My son is not a big reader and trying to find books he likes to read is hard. He did like the Harry Potter series but has found little interesting since. Like a lot of boys his age he is somewhat obsessed humour involving bodily functions. Enter "Smarty Marty". I saw this book and thought this would be right up his alley.Well, that was understating the obvious!. He read it cover to cover over a weekend. This produced much mirth ranging from chuckles to boisterous laughter. It was quite infectious and piqued my curiosity. The book as I discovered is as enjoyable for adults as well as children. Full disclosure - I'm a rugby league tragic and well, it is State of Origin season... I'm looking forward to other titles by this author. I really like his writing style. I am hoping he will produce more books for my son to enjoy. Being a good reader is so important for a child's success in school so I am keen to get him whatever will hold his interest.Product details

I feel embarrassed that I didn't realize that this book was about and probably meant to be read by a twelve year old Australian boy. I am not in that demographic. I am so happy that I just borrowed the book and didn't purchase it. SPOILER It's one big fart joke or it is up until about 6% or so when I bailed out. I gave it one star because I know that some 12 year old somewhere is going to love it.
Great way to lighten up for a great laugh!
Not sure if it's just because I'm Aussie, but certainly not a 12 year old boy, infact a 24 year old woman and thoroughly enjoyed this, will keep in my collections to read again! Aussies answer to Roald Dahl
